The Maquillage Makeup Academy team had the pleasure of working behind the scenes at the La Jolla Fashion Film Festival this past weekend. The La Jolla Fashion Film Festival or LJFFF for short is the first international fashion film festival founded in North America. The festival shows only short films, usually less than five minutes in length, in which fashion plays an important part or has some significance and are meant to emotionally connect the viewer to the fashion brand that creates the film. The film festival allows those who enter it to launch their career, get recognized, and network with Hollywood insiders. The guest list is made up of invited Filmmakers, celebrities, industry professionals, global media, studio and production companies and various creative professionals! LJFFF is an invitation only event making it an exclusive event for all makeup artist, film makers, designers, and hairstylists.
Our graduate student Lizeth Lanz was our lead makeup artist for the night collaborating with students from other cosmetology schools such as California Hair Design Academy, and Paul Mitchell The School. The team of makeup artists and hairstylists arrived in the afternoon of the awards ceremonyin order to prepare the models, nominees, and presenters for the red carpet later that evening.
The La Jolla Fashion Film Festival is one of the many events in San Diego that allows beauty professionals to networkwith other professionals as well as work on high profile events without having to travel to Los Angeles! Maquillage Makeup Academy works hard to make sure that our students and graduates are involved with all leading industry events and allow them to network and gain exposure in the makeup industry. We offer classes full time, part time, and during the weekends to help fit your career goals into your busy schedule!
